As a fast-growing tech-driven startup Safened is continuously evolving and changing. As a Product Owner at Safened, you are the link between Business and IT and the driver of IT related projects. You will use your “helicopter view” to make sure that the cross-functional teams work in a structured and well-informed way, by constantly setting their priorities straight and keeping all communication on a high and fluent level. You are the ultimate stakeholder when it comes to supporting the business and you are excited to build a deep understanding of our product portfolio. An ideal way to develop yourself from within your expertise while enjoying the autonomy and freedom to do this within a start-up environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Your day to day job will differ but will at the same time always focus on one bigger goal which will relate to one of the products within our portfolio. You will make sure that you know all the ins-and-outs on the business and you obviously enjoy doing so. You will get to understand the market dynamics and customer requirements, to make the right decisions on the next priorities. Some other good examples of what to expect are:
Writing user stories and documentation and pro-actively share and discuss these with the tech-team(s);
Prioritizing the backlog, ensure that development efforts are aligned with business needs;
Agreeing on operational objectives by working with business teams; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats;
Making data-driven decisions, we improve the product based on fact rather than gut feeling;
Demonstrating improvements, during our bi-weekly ‘demo’s and beers’;
Reporting on the impact of changes
As you might have noticed, we are looking for someone who is quite diverse. Your basis is that you have an interest in Fintech companies or startups in general. On top of that, this pretty much sums up who you are:
WO/Master graduate, preferably in Technology, Business, Entrepreneurship etc.
You just graduated and want to kickstart your career, or you have a maximum of 2 years of work experience - ideally in a related field or expertise.
Your analytical skills make it easy for your to constantly prioritize, notice potential obstacles to be taken care of, the value of when and how to do something and making data-driven decisions based on what has been done before.
Your organizational and communication skills are excellent. But really.
Your stakeholder management is clear and on a high and professional, making you the ideal person to work with for everybody within the company level to work besides management.
You have a strong intrinsic motivation to get the best out of yourself and your time. Which means we wouldn’t have to bother to tell you what to do and when to do it.
